Here are the answers of some of the questions, which I received. The first
one is in german language. Gerard is of Dutch nationality in lives in
Switzerland. Until last year he could receive the 4 channels SBS6, RTL4, 5
and veronica without any problems. Then, MultiChoice catched the four
channels overnight, leaving the viewers in the dark or paying 1600 Dutch
Guilders for the digital Pace-receiver and getting this four channels free
of charge. Gerard tried from Switzerland to get a card. This was been denied
by MultiChoice. Even as he proved his nationality. Then he said, in this
case he would ask his family in Holland for the free card. MultiChoice
threatend to take his family to the court of justice if they provided the
son in Switzerland with a card. I leave it to the reader what to think about
this behaviour of MultiChoice.

Schritten unternehmen koennen gegen meine Familie. Fuer mich ist es jetzt
sogar eine Herrausforderung um ein grosseres Betrag zu investieren in das
Knacken lassen von das ganzen Multichoice Pakett und dies von die Schweiz
(nicht EU) aus in die EU zu illegal zu vertreiben. 
>Eine andere Option ist naturlich um "De Wereldomroep" zu sponseren damit
Sie ein ganzen Jahr auf sendung gehen. Leider bin ich kein Deutscher oder
Englaender, die haben wenigstens Deutsche Welle oder BBC.

Programme aus andere laender schauen um die Distanz zu meine europeische
Nachbarn kleiner zu machen.

TWO DISHES ON THE D-BOX
Herzlichen Dank fuer den folgenden Tip von Sobhy Gad:

Ich habe heute meine d-box folgendermassen an 2 Spiegel angeschlossen:
den 22 kHz-Schalter an die d-box angeschlossen, da alle DF-1 Programme im
oberen Bereich liegen (ueber 12 GHz), da laut Haendler-Menue die box das 22
kHz Signal schaltet. Der 0 kHz Ausgang wurde an den zweiten Spiegel
geschaltet. Im internen Menue dann nur das 22 kHz Signal ausschalten und
schon arbeitet der zweite Spiegel. Wichtig ist dass der Schalter die 22 kHz
auch durchlaesst und nicht nur umschaltet.

THE SKY-MAFIA

I have an English friend who subscribed to SKY and watched it through ASTRA
satellite dish. He got from Sky a card which he uses with the correct
decoder. The card is valid until 9/97.
Now he studies in Hamburg/Germany and he brought the card and the decoder
with him, hoping he can continue to watch SKY... Just to make shure itīs OK,
he called Sky and asked them if it`s OK. First they it is illegal to use the
card outside the UK, then they said he canīt use it anyway because the
broadcast is not "strong enough".
Is this true or do you think they were just trying to scare him?

Dr.Dish:
It is illegal to use the card outside of the UK. Who cares? It is a lie, the
signal is not strong enough. Just install a 60cm dish and everything will be
fine until 9/97. His family in the UK should then do the payment for the
next year.

MASCOM 9500
Ich habe am letzten Freitag nur einen Teil Ihrer TV-Sendung gesehen und
moechte wissen ob Sie die endgueltige Version des MASCOM 9500 getestet haben?

I did watch only a part of your last tv-show and would like to know if you
tested the final version of teh MASCOM 9500?

Dr.Dish:
Nein, erst in ca. 8 Tagen bekommen wir diesen Free to Air Digital Receiver
und ein ausfuehrlicher Test erscheint dann in der TELE-satellit und in
drdish@tv am 14. Maerz.

No, in about 8 days we will get the final version of this Free to Air
digital receiver. A test will appear in TELE-satellite magazine and in
drdish@tv on March 14.

Is there is any way by which I can find out, if there is any plan of ORBIT
expansion for the ASIAN market. At the moment it is only visible in
Middleeast via INTELSAT at 57° East.

ORBIT tries to expand the service. Now we have a service for Europe via the
18°W position and a spokeswoman declared a further expansion to the Far East
"could be the next step".

I am trying to find a least expensive way to transmit data at 384 kbps from
Kuwait to the USA and back for medical consultancy. It could be dedicated or
shared lines. Satellite service providers are quoting horrendous prices for
the services like 30.000 US$ per month, respectively for dedicated lines and
a Ti line which appr. 1.5 Mbps 90.000/month. Do you have any knowledge in
this area who are providing dervices to Kuwait. (what satellite company, US
or European).

For your data transmission I would try INTERSPUTNIK, Moscow. In 1995
Intersputnik charged for 384 kBps around 2000 US$ a month for one way.
