Irisz TV on satellite?

     Irisz Televison, the company who lost in the competition for the
Hungarian terrestrial television franchise is now thinking to start a
satellite distributed service, but they have not decided yet if it would
be an analouge or a digital feed. The analouge transmission would provide
a greater number of viewers, but using a digital channel in CME's digital
package is lot cheaper.

     One of the reasons for their start on satellite is that they had
already bought several thousand hours of programming, because they were
certain about winning the franchise, but that turned out differently. Now
with the satellite as the only way to appear on the Hungarian TV screens,
they could even start sooner then their rivals on terrestrial
(mid-October, see earlier sat-hungary news).

Irisz Tv muholdon? 

     Az ORTT palyazatan vesztes Irisz televizio mindenkepp elinditja
musorat, igy egy harmadik orszagos kereskedelmi televiziot is lathatunk.
Az azonban meg nem kerult eldontesre, hogy az Irisz milyen modon
terjeszti majd musorat, de szinte bitos, hogy valamilyen muholdas
technologiaval. Ha analog modon indulnak el pl. az Eutelsat Hot Bird 3-as
holdon, akkor azzal nagyobb nezoszamot szerezhetnek, de ahhoz az ORTT
engedelye szukseges. Jobban elkepzelheto, hogy digitalisan sugaroznak
majd es akkor az adast a kabeltevek veszik at, ill. rajta lehetnek az
AM-mikron.

     Muholdrakerulesuk egyik fo oka, hogy a biztos nyeres remenyeben mar
korabban vasaroltak tobb ezer oranyi musort, melyet most szeretnenek
felhasznalni. A muholdas sugarzassal egyebkent elkepzelheto, hogy a ket
rivalis televiziot megelozve oktobernel hamarabb kepesek elindulni.
