THE HEADLINES IN THIS REPORT:
- Express 6
- TRT Avrasya
- SAT MidEast intern
Express 6, 80 East, SATCO-DX: http://www.satcodx.com/e6.html
---------
AST on transponder 15, 4.025 Ghz, Rc, had a first full day of
broadcasting today from this satellite.
The empty carrier on transponder 14, 3.983 Ghz, Rc, was again tested, a
B&W test card appeared, however without horizontal line synchronization.
TV6 is slightly weaker than both other signals in Cairo, however
identical in strenght when VTV4 is broadcasting from Vietnam.
TB3, presently on Express 2, 14 West, showed today an on-screen message
in the Russian language. As my Russian is far from perfect, following
was understood:
TB3 changes to Express 6 on transponder 17, 4.125 GHz, Rc on the 1st of
January 1997. Used is down link antenna A6 and a sound carrier is
announced on 6.45 MHz (?).
A telephone number is mentioned (812) 234-83-10, which is a number in
St.Petersburg.
Surely Serghey Kolosha, the TELE-satellit correspondent in Russia, will
come up soon with the correct translation of this message.
TURKSAT 1C, 42 East, SATCO-DX: http://www.satcodx.com/t1c.html
----------
The transmission of TRT International Avrasya on transponder 12, 10.971
GHz, H, seems this time of a more permanent nature. A sound carrier has
been switched on 6.65 MHz, as Muzaffer Parildar reports from Turkey.
Additionally I found the transmission of an unknown radio station on
7.02 - 7.20 MHz, in stereo.
The TV sound however is overmodulated, even the widest bandwidth used
does not clear the sound.
Kanal-D and Euro-D, on resp. transponder 13, 11.032 GHz, H, and
transponder 2L, 11.568 GHz, V, both since a few days anyway transmitting
an identical programm content and on-screen logo, have to take a day
rest on governemental orders today.

------------------
The SAT-MidEast home-pages have been rendered today in order to make
them more compatible to the MS Internet Explorer 3.0. In fact they are
optimized for the Netscape Navigator 3.0, therefore I had to correct
some minor display features.
Some details have changed in tables and image appearance, the
functionality of the pages have not been altered. Two maps lately added
to the list have been optimized for color display, namely Nilesat 1 and
Turksat 1C. Others will now follow soon.
Best regards,
Henk C. Room / Sat-MidEast / Cairo - Egypt
