**FINLAND**

YLE TV avser satellitsändningar till hösten 1996

I juni kommer YLEs förvaltningsråd att fatta ett definitivt beslut om
satellittransmissioner av YLEs tv-programm, ett positivt ställningstagande
förväntas. Som startdato för satellitsändningarna aviseras hösten 1996.

Satellitreläet kommer att bestå av samma simultana blandning av YLE TV1 & 2
som sedan några år tillbaka länks till en marksändare i Stockholm.
Målgruppen för satellitsändningarna är finska statsborgare i Centraleuropa,
valet av satelliten är ännu öppet. Programmet kommer att sändas i digital
MPEG2 standard, ett betalkort kommer att krävas för dekodning.

**GRÖNLAND**

Grönlands nationella satellitsystem

En utförlig beskriving av det nationella satellitsystemet i Grönland
publicerades i nr 2/96 av danska "Satellit Information". Artikeln beskriver
också den kompletta överföringen av DR1 och DR P1 från Danmark till Grönland
i komprimerad PAL standard via Intelsat 603 på 34.5°V.

**FINLAND**

YLE TV to start satellite broadcasts from autumn '96

In June the governing board of Yleisradio is going to take the final
decision on the start of YLE TV programmes via satellite, a positive
statement is expected. The start of the transmissions is scheduled for
autumn 1996.

The programmes will consist of a relay of the present, simultaneous mix of
YLE TV1 & 2 which is linked for rebroadcasting since a number of years to a
terrestrial transmitter in Stockholm. The satellite relay is aimed at the
Finnish community in Central Europe, the choice of satellite is still open.
The programmes will be transmitted in MPEG2 digital standard, a smartcard
will be needed.

**GREENLAND**

Greenland's national satellite network

The Danish technical bulletin "Satellit Information" published (in Danish) a
detailed description of Greenland's national satellite system in its issue
no 2/96.  The article also presents details the daily, live link of DR1 and
DR P1 from Denmark to Greenland in compressed PAL via Intelsat 603 at 34.5°W.

**FINNLAND**

YLE TV ab Herbst '96 auf Satellit

Im Juni wird der Verwaltungsrat von YLE endgültig über die geplante
Satellitenausstrahlung von YLE TV-Programmen entscheiden, eine positive
Stellungnahme gilt als sicher. Als Termin für den Start der Sendungen ist
der Herbst diesen Jahres vorgesehen.

Gesendet werden wird ein (Simultan-)Mischprogramm aus YLE TV1 & 2, wie es
bereits seit einigen Jahren über Richtfunk nach Stockholm übertragen wird
und dort über einen terrestrischen Sender ausgestrahlt wird. So entstehen
YLE keine zusätzlichen Kosten für die Auswahl geeigneter Programme.
Zielgruppe für die Satellitenprogramme sind finnische Staatsbürger in
Mitteleuropa, die Wahl des Satelliten steht noch offen. Die Ausstrahlung
wird in digitaler MPEG2 Norm erfolgen, eine Smartcard zur Dekodierung wird
erforderlich sein.

Grönlands nationales Satelliten-System

Das dänische Fachbulletin "Satellit Information" berichtete in einer Ausgabe
2/96 ausführlich (in dänischer Sprache) über das grönländische
Inlandssatelliten-System. Näher erläutert wird auch die tägliche der
Zuspielung von DR1 und DR P1 aus Dänemark in komprimiertem PAL über INTELSAT
603 auf 34.5°W.
