Ich bin neu hier in der Runde, aber bereits seit '88 im
"Satellitengeschaeft"..

Da ich mich haeufig in Frankreich aufhalte, nutze ich das Programmangebot via 
Telecom 2B (5 Grad West), um mich zwischenzeitlich zu informieren und zu 
unterhalten. Viele franz. Programme senden ja inzwischen in NICAM-STEREO (wie 
auch in UK u. Skandinavien ueblich..), nur leider ist dieser Standard in 
Deutschland nicht etabliert.

Die Zufuehrung des digitalen NICAM-Signals erfolgt jedoch ebenfalls via
Satellit. 
Zumindest bei den Programmen TF1, France2, Arte u. M6 soll dies wohl so sein. 

Frage nun: Gibt es bezahlbare Endgeraete, um dieses Stereosignal zu empfangen?

Oder ist dies eine aehnliche Pleite wie die fehlende Zweikanal-Erkennung aller

derzeit auf dem Markt befindlichen Receiver?

Zusatzfrage fuer Digital-Profis ;): Kann man mit dem Digital-Receiver von
AB-SAT 
(imho der billigste..) das Radio-Paket "Les Radios" via Astra empfangen?

Hello Andreas,

I watch French TV regulary on Telecom and on cable, but I'm not convinced that
French broadcasters are using NICAM on satellite. However, I know for sure
that France 2 is using NICAM terrestrially, because it is highlighted on their
teletext pages. NICAM-data occupies a few video lines (like teletext). If you
buy a new STEREO TV-set in a small country called "Belgium", it will be
equiped with both a ZWEI TON Stereo-demodulator (for Dutch and German TV) and
a NICAM Stereo-demodulator (for Belgian TV and British TV). I use such a
TV-set from Nokia to watch cable and satellite and it automatically decodes
NICAM on cable but it does not decode NICAM on satellite (if it excist). Also
it is possible to build a NICAM-decoder on your own. A Dutch magazine called
"Elektuur" (available in Germany as "Elektor" (??)) designed a NICAM-decoder a
few years ago with a price tag of around 250 DM.
