And now the news:

---------- ZOMER TV CORRECTIONS
Yesterday I stated that Zomer TV would continue until December 31st,
after when it would change its name to Wereldomroep TV. This was quite
wrong, as pointed out by a Sat-UK subscriber. In fact, Zomer TV will
change its name to Wereldomroep TV on October 1st, and will cease
transmissions on December 31st. Sorry for the confusion.

---------- AB SAT INFORMATION
Thanx to another Sat-UK subscriber for clearing up this situation:
AB Sat is broadcasting on Astra in a deal with Canal Satellite Numerique
(CSN). The two have agreed to broadcast from the same position in the
same standard and encryption in order to help each other increase sales
- CSN subbies can now view AB Sat and vice versa. This is to halt the
progress of France's third digital TV service, Television par Satellite
(TPS).

---------- INTELSAT 803
(source: SATCO DX)
Intelsat 803 will be launched tomorrow night - it is planned to be
positioned at 21,5 degrees east. You can check out the launch on Telecom
2B: 3,768 R, or Telecom 2C: 12,606 V. Alternatively, if you can speak
German, you might like to check out the launch live on Bayern 3 (thanx
to SATCO DX!)

---------- FLEXTECH MOVEAROUND
(source: What Satellite TV)
Flextech is set to introduce three new channels by way of Sky TV on
November 1st, as well as revamp a couple of old ones. UK Gold will be
given a makeover and will receive a new logotype. At the same time, UK
Living will be redone and renamed Living. In addition, three new
channels will be launched: UK Arena (culture, arts and entertainment),
UK Horizons (documentaries and reality check) and UK Style (fashion,
lifestyle and travel).
