And now the news:

---------- Animal Planet to change frequency
(source: Discovery Animal Planet)

On October 15th, Discovery Animal Planet will move from Eutelsat II-F1
and occupy 11,304 H on Eutelsat HotBird 1. The HotBird satellite will
provide a much clearer and stronger reception for the targetted British
and Polish audiences than Eutelsat II-F1. Presumably, Fashion TV will
take over the old frequency, leaving Animal Planet alone once again on
11,304 H.

---------- Another Viacom free weekend
(source: Viacom)

Viacom will be holding another "free weekend" starting tonight. All
Viacom encrypted D2-MAC channels at 5/5,2 degrees east and 0,8/1 degrees
west will be in the clear until Sunday evening. I have already found MTV
Europe on Thor II and the Cartoon Network on Intelsat 707 transmitting
unencrypted. Another channel added to the bouquet is Playboy TV on
Sirius, sharing TV6's transponder (however, it is doubtful that this
will be unencrypted!)
