---------- EKR has started testing (ON ASTRA)

EKR - European Klassic Rock has started testing on Astra 1C, 10,994 H
(transponder 35 - the same as Challenge TV). The new radio station will
start broadcasting on October 20th alongside the nightly radio station,
Night Tracks. For more info, see #127.


---------- Animal Planet now on HotBird 1

Discovery Animal Planet has started broadcasting on Eutelsat HotBird 1,
in PAL/clear. The picture is 10x better than the one on Eutelsat II-F1,
so smaller dish users will now have better access to the
wildlife-exclusive channel. Animal Planet plans to leave II-F1 soon,
although it is not known whether Fashion TV will do so too. Animal
Planet has also started on Thor 1, 11,797 R, so all bigh dish owners can
get it here too.
