PHILIPS CTU 900/00 D/D2MAC DECODER
How to connect your decoder
Plug your scart lead from the decoder socket or your receiver to the
VCR socket of the decoder. Plug the decoder in to the mains socket.
Select channel 0 with the decoder remote control ( the front of the
decoder should display AU for auxillary ). Tune to a d2mac station. If
the receiver has been set up correctly you should get a colour
scrambled picture generally it is green in colour. Insert your card
into the left hand card slot with the silver or gold contacts
uppermost (with a pirate card this will generally be with the chips
upside down).
How to change the onscreen menu into English
Press MENU on the decoder remote control
Select VOORKEURINSTELLINGEN
Press OK
Select TAAL VAN MENU
Press OK
Select ENGELS
Press OK
Press OFF
How to reprogram your card after an ECM
Obtain the update codes from the internet good places to look are the
news group alt.satellite.tv.crypt or check out various web sites that
release the codes, when you have the update codes in multimac format
follow the procedure below. (Please note your card MUST be a multimac
card programmed with the multimac software or equivalent for this to
work.) Alternatively and in some cases necessary contact me on 0956
467353 to send your card back for reprogramming.
Tune your satellite receiver to the station to update the codes for.
Press MENU on the decoder remote
Select READ YOUR CARD
Press OK
Press OK again
Select CHANGE YOUR CODE
Press OK
Enter the first 4 digit code
Press OK
Repeat the process again 6 more times (7 times in total ) entering the
next set of four codes in the sequence. If you make a mistake you
should only have to re-enter that set of codes not all of them.
To Upgrade Your Decoder to S2 spec
Open up your decoder ( be warned that dangerous voltages exist inside
so make sure disconnected from mains before working on the unit, also
this is liable to invalidate any warranty that you may have) and
locate link 9202 which can be found at the front left of the main pcb
between the ribbon cable, card reader and the td 8000, cut this link
in half and solder to the two ends a 39 ohm resistor ( note use a heat
shunt on the cut link at the base to stop melting the solder on the
other side of the board ) .
