Japan Reaches Launch Agreement
  TOKYO, Japan, 96/08/26 (TS) -- Japan has reached a tentative accord with
Space Systems Loral (SSL) under which Japan will launch five SSL-built
satellites between 2000 and 2003, according to the Kyodo news service.

  The deal was reached with Rocket System Corp. and will use an improved
version of the H2 rocket. The news agency said a formal agreement is
expected to be signed as early as this autumn.

  This is the second success for Rocket Systems Corp. and the H2 rocket.
Recently a deal was reached with Hughes to launch ten satellites from 2000.
