Nickelodeon Latin America Launches Friday
  NEW YORK, New York, USA, 96/12/18 (TS) -- The Latin American version of
Nickelodeon will launch this Friday to two million homes in the region. The
network said it has signed contracts for two million multichannel homes in
16 countries throughout Latin America

  More than 800,000 of the two million homes will receive the service via
Argentina's Multicanal, operated by Artear. The same company will also
distribute the channel in the remainder of Argentina, and in Bolivia,
Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. In most of the rest of the region and the
Caribbean the channel is distributed by MTV Networks Latin America.

  The network also named Taran Swan, who has been serving as the channel's
launch director, has been named general manager, Nickelodeon Latin America.
MTV Networks Latin America Inc. operates Nickelodeon Latin America and is a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Viacom International Inc.
