Cyprus Signs For Sirius-2
LONDON, England, 97/04/21 (TS) -- The government of Cyprus has signed a
deal with GE Capital Satellites-Europe, a subsidiary of GE American
Communications, Inc. (GE Americom) for satellite transmission service on
the new Sirius 2 satellite. The craft will be located at 5 degrees East and
launch later this year.
No details of the services to be carried on the satellite, or the number
of transponders signed for, were given but a press release noted the
satellite will be used, "to deliver programming throughout Europe, as well
as to deliver programming channels to viewers within the island republic."
