THE HEADLINES IN THIS 97.04.15 REPORT:

- ARABSAT Infos
- MPEG Tests on Amos
- Bits & Pieces

TURKSAT 1C, 42 East, http://www.satcodx.com/t1c.html
----------
Eko TV transmitting in MPEG-2 on 11.587 GHz, V, has changed its FEC from
7/8 to 3/4. (Info kindly sumitted by P.Gauduin via SATCO-DX)

ARABSAT 2A, 30.5 East, http://www.satcodx.com/a2b.html
----------
The Lebanese TV station LBC (Arabsat 2A: 3.741 GHz, Lc) carries live
uplinks from Dubai on this satellite on 4.060 GHz, Lc, during the Dubai
Shopping Festival, which lasts for a whole month.

The same frequency carries an uplink to Dubai TV every night, which
simulcast on Dubai TV regular channels on Arabsat 2A, 4.060 GHz, Lc and
Hotbird 2, 13 East, on 11.746 GHz, H.
Please notice that the uplink and the regular programs of Arabsats 2A
and 2B have the same frequency and polarization. One only has to change
the dish position between 26 and 30.5 (2A and 2B) to switch between the
uplink and the regular channel.

The same program is broadcast tape delayed on LBC. There appears to be a
coordination between LBC and Dubai TV, as many of the LBC staff appear
on Dubai TV programming during the festival.

Info's kindly submitted by NN from Jordan.

ARABSAT 2A, 26 East, http://www.satcodx.com/a2a.html

The station can also be heard by telephone link in the United States. It
