And now the news:

---------- Sky Scottish in danger?
(source: TV Palace, Sat-UK-Club)
Telly Chiefs last night were poised to pull the plug on the satellite
channel, Sky Scottish. Stunned staff were warned the channel, a joint
venture between Scottish Television and BSkyB, could stop broadcasting
in weeks. Union leaders held urgent talks with station bosses yesterday
after senior staff were told the channel would not be making any more
programmes, putting 24 jobs under threat. The channel's news, sports,
and leisure programmes were aimed at Scots living away from home. Last
night, insiders blamed poor viewing figures for the move. One source
said: "The viewing figures were dismal. We were aware it was going to be
axed but management kept denying it in public."
