---------- TCC gone; welcome TV Travel Shop
As expected, TCC - The Children's Channel, has ceased. After about nine
years of transmissions and numerous facelifts, the kiddie's
entertainment channel has been closed down due to low ratings. It was
simply not able to compete with the likes of Nickelodeon and Cartoon
Network. Not to worry, though, as Flextech maintains that there is a
strong possibility of seeing a return in digital format. Meanwhile, its
place has been taken by two channels - CNBC Europe is now broadcasting
until noon, and a new channel, TV Travel Shop, is now broadcasting
holiday offers from noon til five in the evening, BST, in the clear,
with teletext service 'TV Travel Shop'. CNBC has left 11.097 V, and
Trouble has extended its broadcasting hours to seven in the morning to
take up the space.
---------- Fashion TV for a few weeks longer
Fashion TV has been able to secure its transponder on Eutelsat II-F1
for just a few more weeks. It temporarily shut down on April 1st to make
way for a new German promotional channel, Bob TV, which unfortunately
never got off the ground. Fashion TV will now use the transponder until
either Bob TV or another channel is ready.
