Today Eurotica announced that from tomorrow on it will broudcast at
11.785 H 13 deg. east and 10.987 H 16 deg. east. These 2 frequencies
are currently used by RDV. I wonder if Eurotica just bought those
frequencies from RDV or if these 2 have merged and we will see some
european films (that would have been shown on RDV) on Eurotica soon. I
think this would be highly appreciated by all of us, wouldn't it? ;-)

Subject: Eurotica and Rendezvous, Latest News

Two news items from last night, which rather than clarified the
situation, only served to confuse it even further.
At midnight GMT Rendevous reappeared again, with their same
jumpy old tape, and the same old message about staying where
they are, same satellite, same transponder, same card etc.
At twenty minutes past midnight up came Eurotica, with a
scrolling message at the bottom of the screen, announcing that:
"From tomorrow, the 11th July, Eurotica will move to
transponder TXP 20, 10.987GHz, Eutelsat F3/2, 16 deg East,
Horizontal, as well as TXP 53, 11.785GHz, Eutelsat Hotbird 2,
13 deg East, Horizontal."
But of course, TXP20, 10.987GHz on 16 deg east is where
Rendezvous is now sitting! So someone is telling porkies.
Having looked at the footprints there seems to be no strong
technical or coverage reason for Eurotica to be on both these
two Eutelsat birds. I can only guess that they plan to migrate
permanently to Hotbird 2 at 13 deg east, and will drop their 16
deg east transmission before too long.
"After all, tomorrow is another day"
