SATCO DX Satellite Chart - Updates 16-29 December

This is a summary of last week's updates to the service.

The major news these two weeks have been the start of
regular transmissions on Hot Bird 2 at 13 East.


--- HOT BIRD 2:
16 Dec:
TPS has started 8 new channels on 11,938 H (new tp), MPEG-2, clear

18 Dec:
EDTV - Emirates Dubai TV on 11,747 H, PAL, wide beam
ART Europeon 12,015 H, PAL, wide beam
RTP Internacional on 11,727 V, PAL, wide beam
TPS is also on 12,092 H (new tp), MPEG-2, clear

19 Dec:
RAI package on 11,766 V/11,804 V, MPEG-2, clear
Mediaset package on 11,919 V, MPEG-2, wide beam

20 Dec:
DStv package testing on 11,958 V, 11,996 V, 12,034 V, 12,073 V, MPEG-2

23 Dec:
Polonia 1 is back, now on Hot Bird 2: 11,785 H, super beam

Sat. 1 Österreich on Kopernikus 2: 11,620/11,643 H, MPEG-2
RTL on Kopernikus 2: 11,610 H, MPEG-2

VH-1 Germany has started on Kopernikus 3: 11,625 H, clear, 20-24 CET

VH-1 Germany has started on Astra 1B: 11,612 H (tp 27), clear, 20-24 CET
Chinese Channel has started on Astra 1E: 11,837 H (tp 71), MPEG-2

Voice of America ("America calling Serbia") has started
on Eutelsat II f3: 11,556 H, Mon-Fri 23.00-23.45 CET

Polonia 1 left Eutelsat II f3: 11,080 H on 20 Dec.

WorldNet has left Eutelsat II f1: 12,567 H

EuroSport on Hot Bird 1: 11,390 H has Hungarian audio on 7,74 MHz

Bloomberg Information TV on Eutelsat II f2: 11,575 V
has switched from PAL to MPEG-2

The Telenor package has left Tele-X: 12,322 L

TNT/Cartoon Network on Intelsat 707 is now encrypted in Eurocrypt
The Telenor package has started on Intelsat 707: 10,974 H, MPEG-2

France 3 has started on Telecom 2B: 12,732 V, SECAM

Canal + on TDF 2 is on both 11,881 R and 11,804 R

17 new MPEG-2 channels have started on Hispasat 1A/1B:
12,591 H/12,631 H, MPEG-2, clear

Antena 3 and Tele 5 on Hispasat 1A/1B are now encrypted again,
after transmitting some weeks in clear

All channels on Gorizont 24 have moved from Gorizont 24 to Express 6,
both satellites located at 80 East.


--- MIDDLE EAST:
All Israeli channels surprisingly left Amos 1 on 24 Dec.!

TRT International is back on Turksat 1C: 10,975 H, Eastern beam

EDTV - Emirates Dubai TV has left Arabsat 1C: 3,959 L
MBC has left Arabsat 1C: 4,107 L

The Orbit package on Intelsat 703 is on 11,075 V, 11,555 V
and 11,600 V, beamed to Middle East

ESC - Egyptian Satellite Channel has started on Asiasat 2: 3,640 H

--- Layout improvements:
The chart index for Europe, Africa and Middle East have now
separate lines for the satellites at 19.2 and 13 East.

This gives you a choice of selecting the complete chart for
these locations OR separate charts for any of the satellites
located there. To get the complete chart, you now click on
the satellite position, not the satellite name.


PS.
This Update mail was unfortunately sent out a little late
due the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The next one is scheduled for 6 January.
