SATCO DX - two year celebrations!

This night, between the 16 and 17 December (UTC), it's exactly
two years since SATCO DX Satellite Chart started on the web!

The first year was very good and much better than expected.
But the second year has been far better, with huge increases
in both visitors and contributors and several new features!

There are now daily about 2.500-3.000 visitors on the home page,
and 4.000-4.500 on the European chart index, causing over 150.000
hits every day! The total number of (counted) visitors passed
600.000 last week, passing 100.000 exactly one year ago...

Since the start, 674 persons have contributed with information to
SATCO DX and being a part of making SATCO DX Satellite Chart the
best(?) satellite chart service on the web!

Here are some important improvements to the service the last year:
* Listing update date for all contributions arrived since 970101.
* Cooperation with Sat-Address, which lists address info for over
  1.500 TV/radio channels worldwide.
* Occasional feeds listed worldwide!
* On 6 June, SATCO DX was selected the "Best on the Net in June",
  by "The Mining Company".
* SATCO DX Corner - discussion service, but only open for the
  contributors to the service, as a bonus for them.
* SATCO DX Search Engine - more and more needed as the number of
  channels keep increasing and increasing...

SATCO DX Satellite Chart is currently listing around 160 satellites,
4.504 TV channels (1.255 analog/3.249 digital), 1.992 radio channels
and 4.168 home page URLs. What a resource of satellite information!

There are several new features planned for the beginning of next
year, as you will find out by reading these weekly update mails.
