Russia Launches Molniya Satellite
PLESETSK, Russia, 96/08/17 (TS) -- Russia launched a new Molniya-1
(Lightning-1) on Friday from the Plesetsk Space Center. The new satellite
will be used for relaying telephone calls across Russia and sending the
Orbita TV network to distant regions.
Russian news agency Tass said the satellite's period of revolution around
the Earth is 12 hrs 17 min., and the orbit inclination is 63 degrees.
