Solo Tango Worldwide?
ROME, Italy, 96/08/21 (TS) -- According to a report in Italian magazine
"Musica", the Argentine Tango music channel Solo Tango is to start
broadcasting to Europe, Canada and the USA in September. Solo Tango is
already enjoying cult status in Argentina where it broadcasts via cable, 24
hours a day.
It has been on the air since 1 April 1995 and is run by a group of young
people behind a local radio station called Tango FM. The average age of
viewers to the TV service is 35 years, and in Argentina there are already 3
million subscribers. The programs on Solo Tango are very colorful, dynamic
and there is extensive use of graphics. Viewers can see clips from old
movies, parts of concerts, tango news from all over the world and of course
dance lessons three times a week.
