Duna TV To Move Satellites
BUDAPEST, Hungary, 97/01/13 (TS) -- As of December 1997, the Hungarian
satellite channel, Duna TV will move to Eutelsat Hot Bird 4 (13E) from its
present transponder on Eutelsat II F3 (16E), and TV2 will join in as well.
The Hungarian controlling body, the ORTT has announced the tender for two
new nation wide commercial channels, which will share the present
transmitters of the Hungarian state television's second channel, the TV2.
Therefore during the summer TV2 will move to the skies and will broadcast
from Eutelsat's Hot Bird position.

As Hot Bird 4 will use the frequency range 10.7 GHz - 10.95 GHz, so will
the Duna Tv. One possible transponder is at 10.795, vertical. Both Duna Tv
and TV2 will be freely available in PAL. Duna expects a wider footprint
(smaller dishes to receive it) and because 13 degrees east is full of
interesting unscambled programs, they are hoping to reach more people as well.
