Ariane Launch Thursday
PARIS, France, 97/10/29 (TS) -- Arianespace will attempt the launch of
Ariane 502 from Kourou, French Guiana this Thursday, October 30th, during a
launch window running from 8:00 a.m. ET to 11:00 a.m. ET (13:00-16:00
UTC)[launch window as provided to me by ESA and Arianespace, although this
conflicts with the times posted to the Florida Today Web site - which I
suspect is due to the time change in the United States this past weekend].
Aboard Ariane 502 will be MaqSat-H and MaqSat-B, so-called 'dummy payloads'
and the Teamsat instrumentation package.
Coverage of the flight is planned to begin one hour in advance of the
launch window opening, and in North America will be on Galaxy 9/02. In
Europe, there is supposed to be coverage on Eutelsat II F2, and most
certainly on the Telecom satellites and other locations as well.
