BROADCASTERS FIGHT IN MIAMI!!
BROADCASTERS FIGHT IN MIAMI WITH PRIME TIME 24!!
Characterizing Prime Time 24 as a " chronic copyright infringer whose
days of reckoning has come" a group of broadcasters urged the US
District Court for the Southern District of Florida ( here in Miami) to
accept a magistrate's June recomendation that it prohibit Prime Time 24
from selling network superstations suscriptions to households within
range of terrestrial broadcast.
Several broadcasters are suing Prime Time 24 for alleged violations of
The Satellite Home Vieuwer's Act " white area" restrictions. The
lawsuits allege the network supertation is selling suscriptions to dish
owners withing local affiliated markets and fails to provide monthly
suscriber updates as required by law.
Prime Time 24 disagrees. Responding in comments filed in late July,
Judge Magistrate Linnea Johnson " abdicated" his duties by "blinding"
adopting the injuction requested by Fox Broadcasting, CBS and several of
their affiliated as part of a larger suit filed in December.
The true is...that for long time Networks has been suing Prime Time 24
for the same reason and the fight still on.
