- FILMNET RECEPTION...

Usually, in my experience, you would be able to receive the picture with
a bit of tweaking with your ploarity adjustment. I have an Echostar
LT8700 which in auto mode, would find the strongest signal and lock in
on it.

However, it would appear from my observations that you will need a big
dish to get Filmnet from it's new position. With all the tweaks and
adjustments at my disposal on the LT8700, I cannot get a strong enough
signal. Mind you, I only have a 90cm dish, but I can get some very weak
signals from Sirius or Gorizont birds.

Just look up and gaze. Germany has a sky too. Blue and white during the day
and dark with little stars at night. Just like our sky.

Sorry, couldn't resist....

ABOUT FILMNET-RECEPTION, WE GOT THIS FROM SWEDEN, THANKS!

-> I belive that the reason why Filmnet and all other great channels move
-> are becuse all swedes have their dish pointed on Thor and that
-> It's there Filmnet has the most of the subscribers
-> PROBE

The reason that Filmnet i transponding from Thor insted for Intelsat
is (i think) they sold Satellitepackage to people in Sweden with _24
month_ subscibtion, for like stlg100-200+ stlg17/month. And that package
was a 90 cm antenna with 3 LNB -1 for Astar, 1 for Sirius/Tele-X and
1 for Thor so Intelsat i to week... even i Sweden.
And they sold package with a 30x30 cm SQL antenna too. So no Intelsat
thinking at FilmNet. But how can blaim them :-)

- ANOTHER VIEW ABOUT FILMNET

It's not the private households that FilmNet is targeting it's ASTRA
transponder at. No, they wish to remain available to establishments like
international hotels in the Scandinavian countries, offering NBC and German
channels. But to be honest, in that line-up CNN and Sky News were always
very prominently mentioned in the past. Since CNN, MTV and Discovery Channel
are now available from Nordic satellites you might be right after all...

Best wishes,
